• Dyslexia is the most common learning disability, affecting up to 20% of the population. 

• Some people are more affected than others.

• The basis of dyslexia is difficulty reading.

• Dyslexia is NOT a problem of letter reversals, although this can be a symptom.

• Dyslexics have difference in the area of their brain that associates the shape of the letter with the sound of the letter.

• Often, dyslexics have difficulty with rapid word recall and rapid word recognition.

• Dyslexia is more than a reading problem.
